HOME SALES ARE UP

Sales of existing homes were up slightly in January which was the third straight month over month increase.
Home sales have benefited from favorable conditions: Mortgage rates are still low; there is a large number of homes to choose from.
The National Association of Realtors reported that all-cash sales went up to 32% of the total, which is up from 26% a year earlier. Also it is estimated that the percentage of investor purchases hit 23% up from 17% a year ago.
